Join IAPBNational consultation for developing country eye health action plan
29 & 30 October, 2015, New Delhi
The sixty-sixth World Health Assembly’s (WHA 66.4) resolution in year 2013 was towards universal eye health – a global action plan (GAP) 2014-2019. At the national level, a meeting held in November 2014 at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad was for operationalising the same at regional and country level.
One key recommendation of these resolutions is to strengthen national efforts and develop/update country eye health plan in line with GAP 2014-19.
In collaboration with International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), South East Asia and National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB), VISION 2020: The Right to Sight – INDIA is taking the lead for developing/updating India country action plan for eye health in line with Global Action Plan 2014-19.
The one and a half day national consultation will seek inputs to help draft a country action plan for operationalising the WHO global action plan to prevent avoidable visual impairment including blindness.
The participants will include national and select state units of National Programme for Control of Blindness, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India; VISION 2020 INDIA Board, WHO India, Dr RP Centre/AIIMS, and other relevant key stakeholders will actively participate and contribute.
