IAPB Latin America is looking to contract an ophthalmologist with a public health background for about 50 days (negotiable) a year. The overall purpose of this consultancy is to provide leadership and strategic direction to IAPB’s work in the Latin America region and to ensure that the objectives of the Regional Action Plan for the prevention of avoidable blindness and visual impairment, which was adopted at the regional committee of WHO for the Americas in October 2014, are achieved. You will report to IAPB’s regional chair and be supported by an IAPB Latin America programme manager, who will manage IAPB activities in the region on a day to day basis.
