Join a powerful, unprecedented alliance for better eye health for all.
Join IAPBAs subscribers to IAPB’s various newsletters (you can see the full list of free newsletters on our subscription form here), you will have received a few emails from us, urging you to “update your settings”. IAPB newsletters come in varying frequencies and are segmented by various regions—IAPB Africa, Western Pacific etc.
From a printed, quarterly magazine that was shipped around the world, the IAPB/VISION 2020 newsletter has become a big email-based newsletter bringing you the latest information in the eye health sector. The various newsletters go out to nearly 10,000 subscribers from around the world. Here’s a quick summary of what you receive:
A monthly round-up of grant information, vacancies, awards, updates, international courses and the latest news in the eye health sector. This newsletter goes out to over 3000 subscribers and also disseminates key information around World Sight Day and other key information.
For many years, this very popular newsletter went out as a PDF. This year on, it will also have a HTML avatar (the PDF will still be there for those who love it). The IAPB Africa newsletter is quick round-up and links to eye health news from the sub-Saharan Africa. This newsletter is available in English and French.
A brand-new, mail-list to cater to the growing and interesting developments in this region. The regional chair, Amanda Davis, and the regional coordinator, Drew Keys, bring you the latest from the region, including developments in China, the pacific islands, Australia and PNG and more.
A niche list, only for those interested in the photo competition, so that they can receive updates, see the latest photo entries and share their own photos with us.
IAPB records over 500 WSD events every year. This list will help us inform you when WSD promotional material is available for shipping and so that IAPB can reach out to you to find about your events. These go into the WSD Activities report and are a popular way to get the word out about your efforts.
This is an exclusive monthly newsletter only for staff working with IAPB member organisations. We have recently revamped the newsletter and put a lot of effort in ensuring that the news in it adds value.
We also send out specific e-blasts to our news groups. For example, we advertised the IAPB Africa webinar or mark the International nurses day 2018 with a series of stories from the sector.
Many of you have subscribed to our newsletters over the years and we are incredibly grateful for your patronage. IAPB is a UK-registered charity, and as such we are now working towards being compliant under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As Wikipedia notes GDPR is:
“…a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU”.
It is our endeavor to ensure that you have every option to receive all, some, or none of our email newsletters and e-blasts. While we understand it is a hassle, we urge you to choose your settings now so that you continue to receive our newsletters. The IAPB/VISION 2020 newsletters always were easy to subscribe (and unsubscribe) from.
In compliance with the new regulation we have also updated our privacy policy. You can now look at all your comments and interactions on the IAPB website, download them or delete them. The only web-related analytics we collect are via Google Analytics (and we store your anonymized cookies there for the least possible time). Do note, some of the plugins we use may also collect cookies.
This process has been a great opportunity for us to introspect and understand the various ways in which we can protect user data and collect user consent. IAPB is a key knowledge-hub for many people interested in public health and eye health, and it gives us great pleasure to provide all of you with resources in a responsible manner. Do write to us if you have any questions and thank you again for your interest in IAPB.
