The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) welcomes The Chen Yet Sen Family Foundation (CYSFF) as a Band A member, solidifying a powerful partnership in the fight against avoidable sight loss. This commitment strengthens IAPB’s global network and resources, driving progress towards a world where accessible, affordable, and available eye health is a reality for everyone.

James Chen, Founding Chair of CYSFF and long-time IAPB Global Ambassador, continues his unwavering dedication to the cause. “My journey with IAPB has been deeply rewarding since Clearly merged with IAPB in 2021, witnessing the impact of collective action in transforming lives. My work in philanthropy over the last two decades has been dedicated to vision, and my moonshot ambition is for everybody to get access to vision correction. Initiatives like the Love Your Eyes campaign and World Sight Day are pivotal in transforming how we as a global population consider the importance of our eyesight,” Chen states. “CYSFF Band A membership marks the next chapter, enabling us to collaborate even more effectively and further empower IAPB in its critical mission of helping the world see clearly.”

In addition to CYSFF amplifying their support for the international global alliance, IAPB welcomes Jennifer Chen, Chief Executive of CYSFF to the IAPB Board of Trustees. Jennifer Chen brings extensive experience in finance, philanthropy, and a passion for social impact to the IAPB Board of Trustees. “Joining the Board represents an immense privilege and responsibility,” Chen emphasised. “We are committed to working alongside IAPB’s other esteemed members to accelerate progress towards 2030 in Sight, ensuring no one is left behind on the path to a brighter future.”

Peter Holland, CEO of IAPB, welcomed CYSFF’s heightened engagement: “James Chen and The Chen Yet Sen Family Foundation have been a phenomenal supporter of eye health globally and IAPB. I am delighted they will be joining our Board. James Chen’s continued ambassadorship inspires us all, and Jennifer Chen’s expertise on the Board will be invaluable as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

CYSSF’s Band A membership commitment includes significant financial support and active participation in IAPB’s campaigning and advocacy initiatives. This enhanced partnership aligns with CYSFF’s work in eye health, and early childhood literacy and education enhancement, recognising the interconnectedness of education and eye health in achieving greater impact.
