Cambios de Sistemas para Implementar la estrategia 2030 In Sight- Experiencias de Países Invitados

Durante más de 10 meses, he tenido el privilegio y el honor de trabajar con un grupo selecto de líderes de Guatemala, México, Colombia, Brasil y Paraguay, en el desarrollo de proyectos en salud ocular para sus respectivos países, con una mirada diferente desde la perspectiva de cambios de sistemas. Ha sido un proceso enriquecedor y fructífero, que se socializó en México, dejando cálidas felicitaciones para el equipo humano que ha participado del mismo, y sobre todo abriendo puertas y oportunidades a otros países interesados en replicar esta perspectiva.

For more than 10 months, I have had the privilege and honour of working with a select group of leaders from Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Paraguay, in the development of eye health projects for their respective countries, from a different perspective of systems change. It has been an enriching and fruitful process, which was socialized in Mexico, leaving warm congratulations for the human team that has participated in it, and above all, opening doors and opportunities to other countries interested in replicating this perspective.

Mediante un panel de preguntas y respuestas, los colegas de cada país presentaron sus aprendizajes, retos, y progresos en la implementación de sus proyectos, ante un panel de expertos regionales y una audiencia global, quienes tuvieron oportunidad de conocer de primera mano los aspectos diferentes que facilita la mirada sistémica, como son el considerar el panorama general como punto de partida, priorizar entre las necesidades detectadas el plan más factible de implementarse, a partir del uso de “ palancas” como aspectos clave que mueven los sistemas, saliendo de la concepción clásica que requiere mucho tiempo para lograr objetivos, y más bien recurriendo a convocar a otros agentes inusuales pero efectivos para mover los sistemas.

Through a questions and answers panel, colleagues from each country presented their learning process, challenges, and progress in the implementation of their projects, to a panel of regional experts and a global audience, who had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the different aspects that facilitates the systemic view, such as considering the general overview as a starting point, prioritizing among the detected needs the most feasible plan to implement, based on the use of “leverage” points as key aspects to move the systems, changing the classic conception of implementation of projects,  that requires a lot of time to achieve objectives, and rather considering  other unusual but effective agents to move systems.

Algunos ejemplos de ello incluyen las agencias de turismo para motivar el turismo médico en Guatemala, los residentes de oftalmología en Colombia, otros hospitales locales en zonas rurales de Puebla en México, y otros profesionales de salud y lideres comunitarios en Paraguay.

Some examples of this include tourism agencies to encourage medical tourism in Guatemala, ophthalmology residents in Colombia, other local hospitals in rural areas of Puebla in Mexico, and other health professionals and community leaders in Paraguay.
