Join a powerful, unprecedented alliance for better eye health for all.
Join IAPBIAPB has launched Every Story Counts, a global storytelling campaign that aims to capture the full picture of how eye health shapes lives, livelihoods, and economies. Whether someone has personally experienced sight loss, cared for a loved one, provided treatment, or advocated for better access to services, their story is part of a much larger narrative, one that highlights both the personal and global stakes of ensuring universal access to eye health.
As the first step in this campaign, IAPB members are invited to lead the way by submitting stories from their networks, workplaces, and programmes. These narratives will be showcased across IAPB’s platforms and at key global events, including 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE, World Sight Day, and potentially the Global Summit for Eye Health in 2026. By building a library of lived experiences, IAPB aims to create an advocacy tool that reinforces the collective demand for accessible, available and affordable eye health services worldwide.
“By participating in Every Story Counts, IAPB members contribute to a unified voice calling for urgent action. Whether highlighting systemic barriers to eye care, demonstrating the impact of services, or advocating for policy reform, these stories will be instrumental in shaping a future where quality eye care is recognized as a fundamental right,” said Simon Darvill, Director of Communications, Campaigns and Events at IAPB.
The campaign provides an important platform that also demonstrate the urgent need for policy change. By shifting the focus from pledges on World Sight Day to lived experiences, Every Story Counts helps advocacy efforts with compelling narratives that help strengthen the case for improved global eye health policies. While data and research illustrate the scale of the challenge, human stories drive influence decision-makers and drive lasting change.
IAPB invites all members to get involved by submitting stories to help amplify the collective call for change.
