Good People International (GPI), an IAPB member from the Republic of Korea, is joining efforts with IAPB to strengthen eye health systems in Laos. With extensive experience delivering impactful programs across health, education, and nutrition, GPI brings valuable expertise to this partnership. Since 2001, GPI has provided free cataract surgeries in the Philippines, Mongolia, China, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and the Solomon Islands, and recently demonstrated their dedication and commitment to community-based integrated eye health prevention (2019 -2026) in Bangladesh and myopia prevention education for the youth in South Korea.

This partnership focuses on the implementation of the project titled “Strengthening Eye Health in Laos: Situation Analysis and Systems Leadership Workshop.” Its goal is to establish a strong and sustainable foundation for eye care in Laos through evidence-based planning, capacity building, and systems strengthening. The project will include a comprehensive analysis of the current eye care landscape in Laos. It will foster systems leadership for sustainable solutions, creating a peer-learning network to support ongoing improvements.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of GPI and IAPB to help Laos achieve its national eye health objectives. Building on existing partnerships with local health authorities, regional stakeholders, and the Laos Eye Care Working Group, the project seeks to deliver actionable insights, empower local leadership, and encourage collaborative efforts to drive lasting improvements in eye health systems.

Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this meaningful journey toward advancing eye health in Laos.
