Join IAPBCBM is offering ten fully funded scholarships for doctors in Africa to pursue a postgraduate degree in Ophthalmology for the 2024/2025 academic year. This initiative aims to address the critical shortage of trained eye care professionals, a significant barrier to reducing preventable vision impairment and blindness.

The scholarship package includes tuition fees, a stipend, relocation costs, in-patient medical cover, conference attendance, and a set of ophthalmic instruments. Successful candidates must commit to a service term in an eye care facility serving underserved communities in their home country, ensuring that the benefits of their training reach those most in need.
Eligible applicants must be residents of one of the following countries: Benin, Cameroon, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, or Zambia. They must also secure admission to a recognised postgraduate Ophthalmology program and agree to CBM’s core values and safeguarding policies.
