Join a powerful, unprecedented alliance for better eye health for all.
Join IAPBIn March, IAPB supported the creation of an Eye Health National Advocacy Network in Ghana to serve as a collaborative platform to advocate for action on eye health and coordinate advocacy efforts for maximum impact.
Throughout the year the network has identified a set of eye health priorities around which an advocacy strategy will be developed. It also mapped recent and ongoing advocacy efforts to be taken into account.
In November, the Network met to agree on the advocacy priorities, including:
In the coming months, the network will reconstitute the National Prevention of Blindness Committee led by government to coordinate efforts on reducing the incidence of preventable blindness and visual impairment within a country. The network will also review and complete the national eye health policy and diabetic retinopathy guidelines. With a view on sustained the Ghana National Advocacy Network, an Advocacy fund will be established.
