IAPB will host a session at the 40th Congress of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO), in conjunction with the 83rd Annual Conference of the All-India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) scheduled to take place in New Delhi from April 3 to April 6, 2025. This conference is expected to gather over 12,000 eye health professionals from around the world, making it a remarkable event.

The IAPB session will be hosted by IAPB global and regional teams including IAPB CEO Peter Holland on the 5th April.  The team will present updates on our progress in achieving global eye health targets. We will highlight and discuss political and institutional engagement for the Global Summit for Eye Health 2026

Additionally, the team will present the regional action plan for the WHO Integrated People-Centered Eye Care (IPEC) and the 2030 In Sight Strategy. We’ll discuss progress in the South-East Asia region, key priorities, and a path forward. This meeting will provide a platform to address on-the-ground actions needed to achieve WHO targets on eye health. The session will also offer IAPB members an opportunity to interact with the IAPB team, fostering collaboration and networking. Participants will also have the chance to learn more about our upcoming 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE Nepal.

Similarly, IAPB hosted a symposium on its sectoral strategy, 2030 In Sight at the APAO in Indonesia in February 2024. The symposium aimed to equip eye health professionals, policymakers, and grassroots workers in eye care service delivery with critical knowledge regarding global resolutions and strategies on eye health was a big success.
