The Retinal Communities Pavilion was an exciting, brand-new joint venture at EURETINA 2022 by the Vision Academy
and Barometer Programs, in partnership with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and International Federation of Ageing (IFA), and sponsored by Bayer. The Pavilion raised awareness of the programmes’ and partners’ aims, and encouraged congress attendees to access the wide array of patient-focused peer-reviewed publications, educational materials and recommendations produced across the programs thus far.
The Pavilion was manned by IAPB and IFA representatives, Vision Academy mentees and Barometer Ambassadors, who introduced EURETINA attendees to the various programs’ and partners’ impressive bodies of work in patient-focused care. Further, Vision Academy Steering Committee and Barometer Leadership Coalition members offered “Meet the Expert” sessions throughout the congress to inform guests of their experiences with the programs and their contributions to patient-focused health care. This generated an incredible buzz around the Pavilion with excellent engagement from over 300 guests throughout the congress. Additionally, the Pavilion organically became the place for members of the programs and partners themselves to congregate and interact, which fostered a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
