Kantutani Foundation has very successfully incorporated the “Pro Vista Program”, in 10 years of social activity, we reach more than 193 municipalities in 52 provinces of La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Oruro, Tarija and Beni, we produce and donate more than 185,000.- prescription glasses, totally free. We benefit boys and girls from 6 to 12 years old in public schools, older adults from 55 years old and people with disabilities. Simultaneously, we finance more than 550 ophthalmological surgeries for visual diseases such as cataracts, pterygium and ocular prostheses.
Committed to visual health and after demonstrating the successful results, this year we expanded our reach, by incorporating a MOBILE OPHTHALMOLOGICAL OPERATING ROOM called “BUS OF HOPE”, the first comprehensive visual health vehicle in Bolivia, with highly advanced technology (cataracts – phacoemulsification); which allows us to reach the rural municipalities of our country, minimizing avoidable visual disability and improving the quality of life of those most in need.
