World Sight Day is finally here! And at IAPB, we’ve been busy getting ready for the big day, providing our members with lots of great resources to help speak the message of the importance of eye health around the world. As part of this year’s activities we’re incredibly excited to be part of a new programme to raise awareness about the importance of eye health across the globe.

We’ve teamed up with ITN Business to produce a fantastic news programme called Global Action for Eye Health. This program dives deep into the global efforts to improve eye health, highlighting the urgent need for action and showcasing inspiring stories of innovation and impact from around the world.

What can you expect?

Hosted by Sangeeta Kandola from the ITN London Studio, the programme explores a range of critical topics, including:

  • Innovations in vision care: Discover the latest advancements in technology and treatment that are transforming the way we approach eye health.
  • Accessibility and inclusivity: Learn about the initiatives working to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background or location, has access to quality eye care.
  • Digital transformation in optometry: See how technology is revolutionizing the field of optometry, making eye care more efficient and accessible.
  • Sustainability and community engagement: Explore the ways in which we can build a more sustainable future for eye health and engage communities in promoting eye care.

Why is this important?

World Sight Day is a crucial reminder that over a billion people around the world are affected by preventable sight loss. By raising awareness and driving action, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
