We can’t remove all the barriers women and girls face, but together we can remove one. It is a fact that women and girls do not enjoy the same eye health opportunities as their male counterparts, which can have a devastating ripple effect. We need to do better, and we will do better.
Focus on Gender Equity 2022, shared knowledge, inspiration and ideas from some of the world’s most innovative experts to insert eye health and Gender Equality onto the agenda of the world’s most pressing development issues.
We know that in many countries women cannot, for a myriad of reasons, access services and assistive products with the same frequency as men. Vision loss has far-reaching implications, not just for the women affected, but also for their families, communities, and economies. With Focus on Gender Equity, we that gender should not determine access to health, education, or future opportunity.
