Join IAPBThe Pono Letlotlo Eye project started in 2013, and continued after its scheduled end (April 2016) to implement some of the incomplete activities of the project. The project supports the Ministry of Health to improve services to prevent blindness and visual impairment in Botswana. The project is an integral part of the national eye care strategy, concentrating efforts on diabetic retinopathy, refractive error and child vision services, along with leadership development. The project is facilitated by Addenbrooke’s Abroad, a charitable programme based at Cambridge University Hospitals, which has a long standing health partnership with the MoH, that includes a VISION2020 Link that has received funding from Standard Chartered Bank’s Seeing is Believing campaign.
