As Women Leaders in Eye Health, a global survey is being conducted to explore the barriers faced by female eye health professionals in leadership roles and to identify potential solutions to promote greater gender equity.

The primary research objectives include:

  • Investigate the self-reported barriers to leadership experienced by female eye health professionals across over 20 countries.
  • Examine potential solutions to mitigate these barriers and promote gender equity in leadership within the ophthalmic sector.
  • Assess the impact of existing support structures (e.g., mentorship programs) on the professional advancement of women in eye health.

They are particularly interested in hearing from women working in ophthalmology and the larger eye health sector and would greatly appreciate if this survey link is shared with colleagues, networks, and other groups who may be interested in contributing to this vital research.

Survey Details:

  • Survey Length: Approximately 5-7 minutes
  • Deadline: April 30th, 2025
  • Target: At least 250 responses from 25+ countries

By participating, respondents will directly inform how we can best support women in eye health to thrive as leaders. The results will be shared through various outlets, including presentations at conferences, articles, and group discussions, to ensure the data has a meaningful impact.
