Carmen Choy is the new Head of Seeing is Believing in January 2015. She has moved to London from Hong Kong to take up this responsibility.
Carmen joined Standard Chartered in 2008 as part of the Hong Kong Corporate Affairs team, focusing on sustainability, sponsorship and brand management. In 2012, not long after the Bank made its USD100 million pledge to Seeing is Believing (SiB), Carmen joined Group Sustainability as the SiB Fundraising Manager.
Carmen will now take on an expanded role as the Head of Seeing is Believing, overseeing both the fundraising and programme aspects of SiB. She will continue to report to Jeanette McKenna in her expanded role of Head of Community Investment Health Programmes. Shaza Rais, SiB Programme Manager, Standard Chartered, will report to Carmen. A new SiB Fundraising Manager will be recruited.
Before joining Standard Chartered, Carmen had a combination of experience in communications, fundraising and accounting. She worked for the public relations team of Invest Hong Kong; public relations and fundraising in the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong; and the Hong Kong Corporate Tax team in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
She holds a Master of Science in Public Administration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
